Specialist Auditorium Seating Storage & Logistics

Harrow Green was appointed to provide a specialist storage and logistics solution to support the changing configuration of the auditorium at the companies Battersea head office.

The requirement centred around approximately 300 high-value auditorium chairs, imported from Italy and designed for use on specialist theatre-style staging and racking.

To support the client’s programme of events and audience requirements, Harrow Green provided dedicated warehouse
capacity for the seating when it was not required on-site. The chairs were protected within 27 oversized, purpose-built wooden crates, with each crate designed to accommodate seating securely during storage and transportation.

Approximately 60m² of dedicated warehouse space was allocated to the project, creating an ongoing solution that allowed the auditorium to be scaled up or down.

Client: Largest Global Tech Company

Location: Battersea, London

Sector: Entertainment

The Challenges

The principal challenge was balancing the size, value and specialist nature of the seating with a requirement for rapid and flexible access.

The oversized crates required dedicated warehouse capacity and careful manoeuvring using Harrow Green’s relocation teams and vehicle fleet. Delivery and collection also needed to take place within defined time windows at Battersea Power Station, requiring close coordination with the client. The storage requirement was dynamic rather than static. Depending on the auditorium programme, chairs could be required back at relatively short notice, with subsequent collection and return to storage once an event had concluded.

Space was also an important consideration. The warehouse team needed to reorganise existing capacity to create a secure, dedicated area capable of accommodating all 27 crates.

The Solutions

Harrow Green created a tailored storage and distribution process specifically around the client’s auditorium programme.

Our relocation teams managed the delivery and collection of the oversized crates between the warehouse and Battersea, adapting resources and schedules in line with the client’s changing requirements.

The wider service also supported the operational process around the seating itself, including the movement of crates following dismantling, transportation to storage and subsequent return to site for reinstallation when required.

By maintaining regular communication with the client, Harrow Green was able to respond to short-notice requirements and align movements with planned auditorium activity.

The Outcomes

The solution provided Apple with an ongoing, flexible storage and logistics service that supported the changing use of its auditorium without requiring permanent on-site space for seating that was not always in use.

By dedicating 60m² of warehouse capacity to the programme, Harrow Green provided secure accommodation for all 27 specialist crates, protecting approximately 300 high-value chairs while keeping them readily accessible when required.

The service also freed valuable space for the client and its third-party contractors to undertake auditorium configuration works, including the construction and installation of theatre-style seating and staging.

The relationship has continued as an ongoing delivery and collection programme, with Harrow Green responding to the client’s event schedule and adapting activity as requirements change.

Rather than simply providing storage space, the project demonstrated Harrow Green’s ability to combine specialist warehousing, high-value asset protection, responsive transport and operational support into a flexible solution built around the client’s business needs.
