Harrow Green manages the L&D’s entire offsite record storage, some 750,000 items. As well as patient records, they store dental impressions, x-rays, theatre logs, fracture packs, maternity notes, A&E records and files from the L&D’s Obesity Research Centre. This is the sharp end of RM, where delays can have serious consequences.
The heart of the service is Harrow Green’s twice daily delivery schedule and, more importantly, their emergency response service, on call all day, every day. The engine room is the O’Neil system, a world-class RM application that delivers extremely fast ‘find and retrieve’ results, including automated ‘route planning’ that plots the shortest journey around Harrow Green’s 100,000 square foot storage facility to find dozens of unrelated files.
