Vacancies at new operations centre

We have just opened a new regional operations centre in Wymondham, near Norwich, and are looking for suitable candidates to fulfil a range of operative roles and deliver our multi-award-winning commercial relocation service to clients in the region (including Norwich Union, with whom we have just secured a national 'moves and changes' contract).

We are looking for reliable and trustworthy individuals with a positive customer focus. Successful candidates will need to have a flexible attitude to work and understand that each position involves a high degree of overtime during evenings and weekends. The following positions are available:

Supervisors

Supervisors are senior operatives who have ultimate responsibility for Harrow Green's teams on site, often working across multiple sites at any one time.  All operatives on the job, including foremen, will report to you, and you will be expected to be able to communicate clearly and professionally with your teams as well as our own project managers and the client. This post requires that you have previous experience in a senior operative role.

Foremen

Foremen manage the on-site supervision of operative teams working on commercial projects. You will be responsible for the control and management of all relocation tasks determined by the project plan, including requests from Harrow Green project staff (including your direct supervisor) and clients. Ultimately, you are responsible for completing your project activities to the complete satisfaction of the client, and managing your teams professionally. You should have previous experience in a senior operative role.

Furniture Fitters

Many of our commercial projects involve the installation of system furniture. Furniture fitters are the primary engineers responsible for decommissioning and recommissioning our clients' furniture assets. You will be expected to have experience in working with specialist furniture and a good, up-to-date knowledge of the major commercial furniture brands. Drivers (HGV and non-HGV)

Harrow Green has a vehicle fleet in excess of eighty vehicles, and growing. Without our vehicles, and their drivers, we could not operate the majority of our service. You will be required to undertake a range of safe loading and driving duties in relation to the completion of commercial relocation projects. You must possess a clean driving licence and be able to drive professionally and with courtesy to other road users. You and your vehicle, when on the road and on site, symbolise the reputation of Harrow Green.

Porters and Packers

Our large team of porterage and packing operatives form the backbone of our commercial relocation service. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the packing and moving of client effects, including the sequential movement of library items and, from time to time, the handling of valuable and vulnerable items. Previous experience would be an advantage, but we can offer training to inexperienced but promising candidates.
